Hinduism – Process Panentheism

religion news service website

Process panentheism avoids the difficulties of materialistic and classical naturalism. It places sensory perception on a different mode of perception and explains God's interaction with the mind, body, & God. This view avoids dualism and supernaturalism.

Hinduism

Hinduism is a polytheistic religion, and it is divided into several distinct categories, such as henotheistic, panentheistic, and monotheistic. Hindus are people who believe that one god is capable of fulfilling multiple roles. A panentheist holds that everything in the universe, or Brahman, is one entity.

Panentheistic derives its name from Greek roots, and literally means "God is all things." This view is based in part on the Bradaranyaka Upanisad Hindu scripture. This scripture depicts a dialogue between two students.

Neoplatonism

Neoplatonism refers to a panentheistic religion that holds God to be both the transcendent One as well as the World-Soul. The former is immanent in this world. This view carries over the panentheistic theology of Heraclitus, who believed that all is one.

Panentheism can be described as a group of related theologies, which all share some basic affirmations. You will discover the differences and similarities among this family of beliefs by a thorough investigation.

Kashmir Shaivism

Kashmir Shaivism believes that there is only one Creator or Absolute Reality. He exists in all things, and is the source for all knowledge and life. Paramasiva (the creator) cannot be fully described as He is infinite. Accordingly, His infiniteness is impossible to comprehend by any human mind. This absoluteness is an important aspect of Kashmir Shaivism.

Kashmir Shaivism's doctrine on the Absolute is nondual as it is theistic. It says that everything is real, but that it is also spiritual. It defines absolute reality as the state of pure Consciousness, which is divine, joyful, and luminous. The Absolute has an awareness of all creatures and it is ever aware of them.

Theology of the Saivite

Panentheistic theology is the basis of Saivism, which proclaims God Siva to be the embodiment of love. This love is immanent as well as transcendent. God creates the world. We progress in our evolution toward moksha, which is salvation.

The concept of panentheism is a middle ground between traditional monotheism and theism. While traditional monotheism rejects the concept of God's existence as immanent, panentheism holds that God is essentially immanent within the universe. This belief allows God to be both transcendental and immanent and fosters intimacy between God and the universe.

Vaishnavism

Each sub-denomination in the Hindu pantheon teaches a different view on God. Northern Vaishnavas view Vishnu, for example, as Krishna while southern Vaishnavas consider him to be Rama. These differences aside, there are five main schools to Vaishnavism. These schools have different views of God and human relationships. Ramanuja established Shrivaishnavism.

Vaishnavism does not believe in a pantheistic deity, but it is not a monotheistic religion either. Its theology rests on the vedas that recognize a supreme Being in three aspects, the material universe, spiritual world and the 'personal God. In this framework, God crosses all aspects of creation and is both personal and universal.
