The World Religions Conference is an annual event that brings together multi-faith people from across Canada. It dates back to 1981, when it first took place in Brantford Ontario. It is Canada's largest multifaith event. It promotes dialogue between religions.
Interreligious dialogue
The Boston College Coloquia on Interreligious Dialogue will bring together scholars from around the world and different religions to address fundamental questions in the field. The conference's keynote speaker is Michael J. Puett from Harvard University. He will talk about how Chinese religions could help Western rituals. Anantanand Rambachan (a Stonehill College professor of Hindu Studies, and Associate Professor of Religious Studies, College of the Holy Cross) will speak on the similarities between Hinduism and Christian social thought.
Animism
Animism can be described as one of many world religions which has a profound influence over our lives. It is often described by some as an esoteric, but also practical religion. It is possible to attain your goals through a variety methods, including offering prayers for healing and protection against evil.
Totemism
Totemism describes a form religion that involves members of a community projecting religious values and symbols onto objects with a sacred value. Durkheim said that all religion functions in the same way. Rituals generate collective consciousness. A shared set of beliefs, values, and thoughts.
Hinduism
Recent conference in Utah featured a panel about Hinduism. The conference aimed to raise awareness about the minority faith and expose the public to new ideas about religion in modern society. Sarma spoke out on the importance to understand Hindu practice and beliefs in the contexts of Western faith traditions.
Islam
The Islam at the world religions conference, a major event, will bring together representatives from many different religions. The conference will feature talks by some of the most renowned scholars of Islam in America. There will be speakers from all walks of the Muslim community at this conference. Eighteen of the 14 speakers will be women and two will come from Africa. The presentation format will be the same as TED Talks. This format is intended to make presentations more accessible and more relevant to a wide audience.
Judaism
Judaism was traditionally considered a minority religion. However, there are many Jews in America and other countries. The religion seeks a just society, and its teachings are applied to the social order, industry and commerce. It also targets to eliminate poverty and tyranny as well as social inequality. It promotes the right of all people to a decent standard living and the dignity of human life.
Unitarianism
Unitarianism is a good example of a global religion. It has a long history of building relationships with people of different faiths. Unitarianism is considered a secular religious movement. Yet it is distinct from other faiths in several ways. Unitarianism has become a pluralistic liberal movement within the English-speaking globe, but it still retains its uniqueness in continental Europe.
