Believers in multiple gods have many benefits. This religion is a way to avoid many of the problems that monotheism can cause, such as evil and omnipresence. Polytheists are less likely to be intolerance of other gods. Avoiding both these problems is easier than with monotheism.
Monotheism
Monotheism emphasizes the uniqueness and divinity of God. The Mosaic texts were the first Mosaic texts to be used as the basis for the monotheistic religion that was Israel. One God was the result of multiple gods.
Polytheism
Polytheism refers to belief in several gods. Although often confused with paganism or polytheism, it is a separate category. Some religions are polytheistic and worship all gods equally. Others place gods in hierarchical orders. They all have different powers, and not all of them can grant the wishes of their followers.
Henotheism
Henotheism is also known as polytheism. It holds that there are many gods. While henotheists do not deny the existence of other deities, they do believe that there is only one primary deity. Henotheism comes from the Greek words heis, which means one, and theos, which means God. Henotheism is distinct from monotheism as belief in multiple gods, or in a personal choice.
Pantheism
Pantheism is a philosophy which believes in multiple gods. This philosophy is based on science and inquiry. Pantheism believes that the knowledge of all things leads to God's understanding. This philosophy doesn't require belief in an afterlife or strict rituals. This philosophy can be found in many non-Christian religions.
Animism
Animism is the belief in many gods and spirits. Animists believe in interconnectedness between all things, including humans, animals, or the elements. They believe everything is spiritual, but not all spirits have the same characteristics. Pantheists believe everything is one spiritual essence. However, animists believe everything has multiple spirits with distinct personalities. Animists view themselves as equal to all other forces and part of nature.
Plant deities
Aztecs worshipped plant goddesses such as Mayahuel who is the goddess of the maguey. This plant's sap is believed to be the blood of the god. The Aztecs also call Centzon Totochtin, a 400-membered herd of rabbits.
Polytheistic rulers
Polytheism does not follow a set of rules. It is a flexible framework which allows local cults in different contexts. In contrast to monotheism, polytheism does not have a fixed set of gods, as is the case in monotheistic religions. Polytheism can be seen as an evolutionary stage. Scholars have rejected the notion that it is. They believe that multiple gods reflect an imbalance of cultural thought.

Monotheistic religions believe in multiple gods. Often, they believe in many more than one. Nearly all people practice at least one of these faiths. Some religions hold similar beliefs to God while others are more diverse. These three major monotheistic religions include Christianity, Islam, and Judaism.
