There are many forms of polytheism

mythological

Polytheism, a religion that worships the gods in multiple ways, is called polytheism. It's the belief that there are multiple gods or deities and that there is no superior god. This article will discuss different forms of polytheism such as Orthodox Christianity (Catholicism), Shinto and Zoroastrianism.

Zoroastrianism

Zoroastrianism was a religion that originated in the ancient Near East and Central Asia. It is believed it was founded around the second year of the third millennium B.C.E. Its name comes from the god Zarathushtra, who is also known as Zoroaster. This ancient religion, although centuries-old, is still being practiced.

Zoroastrians believe in the eternal struggle between good and evil. They believe in the existence of two spirits: Angra Mainyu, which is the spirit for evil, and Spenta Mainyu who is the spirit for good. They also believe the power of fire. Zoroastrians believe that the fire temple is their main place for worship. Legend says that there were three fire temples at first. But these temples are legends and have not been found.

Catholicism

The Catholic religion, which is monotheistic in faith, recognizes the divinity and trinity of Jesus Christ. Its main religious document is the Judeo-Christian Bible, which is considered to be inspired by God. It includes the Old Testament of Hebrew religion as well as the canonical books for the New Testament. This was established in 4th century CE. Some portions of Bible are meant to be literalized, while others can be interpreted as poetic expressions of faith.

Catholics venerate the Virgin Mary as well as other saints. These saints don't have the power to create, but they can be invoked for intercession in prayers. The Virgin Mary was the mother Jesus Christ's and lived in Bethlehem, Nazareth, and Bethlehem. The archangel informed her that she would be giving birth to Christ as virgin. She gave birth to Christ, but she was still a virgin after her birth. Her body underwent what is called "the assumption" to become Queen of Heaven.

Orthodox Christianity

It is more than a matter of belief that the relationship between Orthodox Christianity and polytheism exists. Both religions hold very different views on salvation and the nature of God. Orthodox Church believes that God becomes man by grace and the Holy spirit. This is how God made Himself known to us as a man.

Worship in Orthodox Christianity is liturgical and follows ritual patterns. It enfolds the whole human person and is seen as a direct entrance to the throne of the Creator. Worship can be transformative as it brings the Christian closer to God and makes him a saint. Orthodox Christianity's essential elements include worship and veneration for holy persons.

Shinto

Shinto practitioners perform ritual purification before they approach a kami to make a petitionary prayers. Moreover, they are expected to make an offering before seeking the kami's blessings. This could include food, sake, or a fine horses, among other things. These offerings are considered a transaction, between the worshipper (the kami) and the worshipper.

Local shrines were used in the early days of Shinto to enshrine protector gods from the local clan or village. The shrines were often held in conjunction with seasonal festivals, which the whole community was expected participate in. Shinto beliefs focused upon the interests of the whole village, while Buddhism focused more on the individual. Shinto religions were modified by Buddhism. People could pray to shrines for personal problems.
