the gods greek mythology

Many questions surround religions and the number of gods. There are Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, and all of these religions worship different gods, but all of them share one God. We will be taking a look at some these religions and their Gods in this article.

Hinduism

Many gods are part of the Hindu religion. Many minor gods are assimilated into central pantheon and associated with great gods, either as friends or children. Hanuman, for instance, appears in Ramayana as Rama’s assistant during the battle of Lanka. He is Parvati's son. Another important god is Ganesha, an elephant-headed god who is the remover of obstacles. His worship is performed at the beginning of any major undertaking.

Islam

Islam teaches us that there is a multitude of gods, angels and men. These immortal beings are the link that connects God and humanity. They sent messengers, such as the angel Gabriel, to convey God's message to the prophet Muhammad. Angels, as such, are not subject to unbelief.

Judaism

Judaism refers to a worldwide religion that worships God. The Jews believed that God existed and made a binding agreement with him to follow the laws he provided. Jewish people try to follow the letter and spirit of the law, but also try to do what is best for God. Holyness is integral to every aspect of Jewish religious practice. This means they strive to honor God and glorify his work.

Christianity

Christians say that the Bible mentions only one God. However, others believe that the Bible has multiple gods. This misunderstanding is a common one. This is because the Bible does not mention three gods. It just states that God exists as three persons. Some Christians pretend that there are three gods.

Sikhs

Sikhs believe there is a multitude of gods that assist us in daily life. They are not all the same, and they believe that each person's actions will have an effect on the next person. The Sikh belief system also has a very strong emphasis on doing good deeds after death. Today, there are about 700,000 Sikhs in the United States, and most live in India. In America, Sikhs usually gather to worship at a gurdwara on Sunday, although there are also formal services on Wednesday and Friday.

Buddhism

While Buddhism is considered an "atheistic" religion in the West, this doesn't mean it lacks deities. Rather, it holds that there are many gods that assist people in their daily lives. These deities may be a combination of countless forces in nature, but they all serve a purpose in the Buddhist worldview.
